How to read a feelings question

A "how do they feel" question is answered by the card's emotional register, not by a yes or no. Four of Swords describes the mood and the direction of what the other person carries — read it as a snapshot of the connection now, and let the position of the card in your spread (their feelings, their intentions, the near future) sharpen what it refers to.

In love it suggests a healing pause: time to reflect without pressure, or a quiet phase after conflict. Shared silence can bond too. Don't mistake calm for indifference.

Four of Swords as feelings, reversed

Reversed, the card keeps its theme but turns it inward, blocks it or delays it — read the reversed meaning below through that lens.

Reversed, it warns you keep postponing the rest you need — or that the pause has lasted long enough and it's time to re-engage. Listen to your body: it knows which of the two is your truth right now.
