How to read a feelings question

A "how do they feel" question is answered by the card's emotional register, not by a yes or no. Five of Wands describes the mood and the direction of what the other person carries — read it as a snapshot of the connection now, and let the position of the card in your spread (their feelings, their intentions, the near future) sharpen what it refers to.

Five of Wands as feelings, upright

In love it signals arguments, rivalry, or others competing for the same attention. Friction can fuel passion or wear it down: it depends on whether you argue to win or to understand.

Five of Wands as feelings, reversed

Reversed, the card keeps its theme but turns it inward, blocks it or delays it — read the reversed meaning below through that lens.

Reversed, it means the conflict is dissolving — or that you're avoiding it at all costs. If the tension turned inward, express it constructively. Real peace is negotiated, not faked.
