How to read a feelings question

A "how do they feel" question is answered by the card's emotional register, not by a yes or no. Eight of Swords describes the mood and the direction of what the other person carries — read it as a snapshot of the connection now, and let the position of the card in your spread (their feelings, their intentions, the near future) sharpen what it refers to.

Eight of Swords as feelings, upright

In love it reflects feeling stuck in a situation with no visible exit — for fear of loneliness, of hurting someone, or of being wrong. You have more options than your fear is showing you. Ask for support to see clearly.

Eight of Swords as feelings, reversed

Reversed, the card keeps its theme but turns it inward, blocks it or delays it — read the reversed meaning below through that lens.

Reversed, it celebrates liberation: the blindfold falls, limiting beliefs release, and you reclaim your power to choose. What bound you loses its grip. Walk toward the door that was open all along.
