How to read a feelings question

A "how do they feel" question is answered by the card's emotional register, not by a yes or no. Death describes the mood and the direction of what the other person carries — read it as a snapshot of the connection now, and let the position of the card in your spread (their feelings, their intentions, the near future) sharpen what it refers to.

Death as feelings, upright

In love it marks the close of a dynamic or a relationship that has run its course. If the couple continues, it must be reborn on new foundations. Release what no longer lives so love can breathe.

Death as feelings, reversed

Reversed, the card keeps its theme but turns it inward, blocks it or delays it — read the reversed meaning below through that lens.

Reversed, it shows resistance to a change already underway. Clinging to the past only prolongs the pain. What you fear releasing is probably already gone; allow yourself to grieve and move on.
