How to read a feelings question

A "how do they feel" question is answered by the card's emotional register, not by a yes or no. The Devil describes the mood and the direction of what the other person carries — read it as a snapshot of the connection now, and let the position of the card in your spread (their feelings, their intentions, the near future) sharpen what it refers to.

The Devil as feelings, upright

In love it can indicate intense passion, but also jealousy, dependency, or a relationship that traps more than it nourishes. Ask yourself whether this bond helps you grow or keeps you chained.

The Devil as feelings, reversed

Reversed, the card keeps its theme but turns it inward, blocks it or delays it — read the reversed meaning below through that lens.

Reversed, it's great news: the chains are loosening. You're waking from a dependency or stepping out of a toxic situation. Use the momentum to free yourself fully — and don't look back.
