How to read a feelings question

A "how do they feel" question is answered by the card's emotional register, not by a yes or no. Nine of Wands describes the mood and the direction of what the other person carries — read it as a snapshot of the connection now, and let the position of the card in your spread (their feelings, their intentions, the near future) sharpen what it refers to.

Nine of Wands as feelings, upright

In love it reflects past wounds that make you wary, or a relationship that has weathered trials and still stands. Don't let old scars close the door on what's new. Lower the shield little by little.

Nine of Wands as feelings, reversed

Reversed, the card keeps its theme but turns it inward, blocks it or delays it — read the reversed meaning below through that lens.

Reversed, it warns of real burnout or a distrust that isolates you. Quitting one step from the finish would be a shame, but pushing on without rest has its cost too. Recover first, then finish.
